The Storyteller Behind the Art

Hi, I’m Sherif Makki—a contemporary artist and creative director passionate about telling stories. Through design, screen printing, photography, and painting, I capture moments and ideas that feel personal yet relatable.

Being Egyptian, living in Sydney, and being part of a multicultural family has shaped how I see the world. These experiences inspire my focus on diversity and representation, which are central to my work. Pop culture also plays a big role—it’s familiar, but it can challenge perspectives and spark meaningful conversations.

For me, art is all about connection. Whether sketching strangers in a café, responding to world events, or reflecting on my own experiences, I strive to create something real and meaningful.
